AG Orissa retain zonal cricket title

Host Orissa beat West Bengal in the final by 23 runs to retain the title in the East Zone Audit and Accounts Cricket Tournament at East Coast Railway ground in Bhubaneswar today. Saroj Barik, Prashant Mohapatra (both Orissa) and Pulak Das (WB) scored a half-century each in the well-contested match. The champion and runners-up teams qualified to participate in the All-India Audit and Accounts Cricket Tournament to be held at Chennai.

Accountant General (Orissa) Suparna Deb and East Coast Railway Principal Director Nandana Munshi handed over the trophy at the closing function. Orissa Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera presented the man of the match and man of the trounament prizes to Saroj Barik and Pulak Das respectively. Earlier in the semifinals, West Bengal beat Bihar by nine wickets, while Odisha prevailed over Assam by identical margin.
